Question Battery disconnect

I was looking at battery disconnect switches and they have Amp ratings, typically from 100 to 300. I have 2, Trojan T105's a total of 450 amps. Do I need a switch that is rated for that amount of amps?

If do not have a big inverter installed that is going to draw a lot of amps then a 100A switch should do you just fine.

Your not disconnecting the potential but the load. The battery potential may be several hundred amps but the trailer load without a short is seldom 100 amps. The wire size to handle 100 amps is far larger than most trailers will have between the batteries and the distribution panel. fwiw, Tim
