Derick,
I have a Blue Seas battery switch so haven't used the Marinco. I have seen that switch used on boats, however, and it seems to work well and looked well made.
Have you isolated the cause for your boiled battery? Plenty of people leave their trailers plugged in, periodically checking the water levels and voltage in their battery, and have not had any problems. As others mentioned, it sould be an old one-stage converter depending on the age of your trailer, a converter gone bad, or a problem with the battery.
(edit - sorry but I just re-read and this is for a new trailer
. My fault for not paying attention. Ignore that part about isolating the cause for the old trailer).
