Battery drain when plugged in

Our battery drains when we are plugged in. The trailer is receiving the house power because this is shown by the microwave working. If the battery is disconnected while the trailer is still plugged in, none of the battery functions work (lights.....etc). Does this mean that the power converter is not working?
Thanks in advance.

since you don't have your trailer year/model in your signature nor in your post, it's hard to say.
older trailers often required the battery to be connected when plugged in, for 12v items to work.

also, knowing brand/model of converter would help.
