Overcharging can and will ruin a battery. Overcharging may be the cause or effect...ie battery calling for charge...below voltage level or the charger may not sense the voltage and keeps charging. Seen more of the first....especially with automatic chargers these days. Either can happen.

If a converter is bad and putting 16V into a battery, you will definitely boil out a battery.

I use to work on the GM EV1 vehicle back when it first used FLA batteries. Trust me, we saw this more than a few times.

New converter pd4655 but no more 12v?

Hello,
I got this new progressive dynamic converter on Amazon. Install it and it work fine for few weeks.

Now it won't recharge the batteries. Also if I disconnect the 12v batterie, I won't have lights from the converter. So what should I check?

New batterie, 120v from stable shore power (often home).

Thanks

Fuses are ok.
I remove the 12v cables at the end of the converter from the fuses pcb and it's 0V.
There's 120v coming in. Also the fuse that is soldier on the PCB is intact.

Still wondering what's going wrong.

Silly question but have you checked the converter breaker in the distribution panel?

Sounds like a defective converter. Call Progressove at this point. Good luck...
