Battery Quick-Disconnects

Since we are going to be storing in a storage lot, I plan to remove the battery so it doesn't get stolen, and also so I can keep it on a battery tender when not in use.

So I'm thinking of installing something like this:



Anybody done it?

Warn sells a set for use on their winches, so they should be able to handle the current. But I haven't verified yet...

they work good had them on my work truck for hooking and unhooking jumper cables

That is a common modular connector family called 'Anderson PowerPole" connectors. There are several different sizes and colors with different current capabilities. The 45 amp connector is just over .25" square (for one wire) and will slide together with another to form a nice 2 pin connector. Unless you have an inverter, your rig probably never draws more than 15 amps from the battery at any given time, so you could use the 45 amp PP15 size. If you find that size or a larger on with pigtails already connected, you are ahead of the game and a larger connector, while bulky, may be easier to handle.

It's a good choice.
