Battery time

I need to replace the battery in my 2006 Wildwood 22FSE. It appears to be a group 24 size with only one being used. We do not plan on dry camping as most of our trips go to parks with full electric hook ups. Guidance needed on which type of battery. Starter type or deep cycle, any concern on cca ratings, amps best to look for, any particular brand names stand out as longer lasting than others and any other information I need to make my decision on.
Thanks for the guidance I know I will receive from this forum.

Main thing is that you want a deep cycle battery and NOT a starter or dual usage type of battery. I would see if a slightly larger battery such as a group 27 or group 29 would fit into your battery box. Most battery box's will at least fit a group 27. If the battery states CCA (cold cranking amps) it is not a deep cycle type of battery.

If you do not plan on any dry camping or at least none more than rarely just one night... you can probably get by on just a 12v "marine/crank/deep cycle" from Sam's club or Costco.
I know others may recommend deep cycle only but you don't really need that. I got by with twin 12v marine/crank/deep cycle for 5 years on my last trailer. We did dry camp on occasion and I just made sure they were always fully charged at home storage. I use a battery tender charger and have always got long life out of my batteries.

X2. If your not going to dry camp, then any deep cycle will do. Battery capacity (i.e. ah) becomes a non-factor, since your not going to take it down in any real sense to the 50%minimum.

I think some people get too caught up on the CCA term. You battery isn't going to shoot a huge surge of power out at any point. That simply means that the battery as the ability to provide constant output at the CCA level and able to withstand a surge to whatever it's highest Amperage might be. Your battery will only ever provide as much power as is needed by whatever is drawing from it. My RV came with an Interstate Group 24 battery for Marine/RV. It isn't a Deep Cycle (like I was told), but it should work just fine for 99.9% of the time.
