NAPA has some decent deep cycle batteries for a decent cost. And you get a good discount if you are a AAA member. I've had good luck with them in the past. But, I do use a Group 30 Trojan 12 volt currently. (Did you like the play on words there? currently . . . get it?)

I used to use the Interstate 6 volt. Had 6 of them.I have now stitched to Lithium Ion. Had to save money for it but the advantages are great for a full timer using solar. Very fast recharge to 90% (1-2 hours), long life, lighter, and no maintenance. I went with just two and got my basement compartment back

I have been using a pair of Napa 6 volt batteries for 4 years now and have been quite happy with them.
