No way does it compare to the Honda, or Yamaha for that matter, in the noise dept. Those two are in a different league which is why they are in a different price league also. Not knocking the Champion but if your going to be running the generator around other campers, do yourself and them a favor and get the Honda.

ependydad, wherever you choose to buy one, make sure they are an "authorized" Honda equipment dealer.
Sounds like your Champion might need a new muffler. I have a Champion 2000 and my neighbor has a Honda 2000 and we both agree they have the same noise level.

Ratings from Honda and Champion websites.

Honda (Canada) Specs: Honda 2000 - 53 db @ 7 meters (23 feet)
Champion (Home Page) Specs: Champion 2000 - 53 db @ 23 feet (7 meters)

I don't know, but the above ratings kinda look the same to me.

Be very careful using your generator ( what ever brand) in Wally World parking lots. The could walk away if not secured VERY well.

I ordered a generator from costco last week, should be here monday.

If this link works...PowerStroke 1,700W Running/2,100W Peak Inverter Generator

If not, then same thing only camo and $200 more.
PowerStroke RealTree 2,100-Watt Gasoline Powered Digital Inverter Generator-PSI2100RT - The Home Depot

Hard to get 'real' specs but I can and will check it/test it next week and report back.

For $449 delivered it was impossible to say no. Reviews seem pretty good.

Does that impact warranty? Wherever I buy from, I'll very likely never step foot in the store/shop again.
