Boondocking no110 power even with generator running

We are new to our motor home so this is probably an operator error. Parked for the night somewhere, no elec hookup. Started generator and none of the electrical outlets or microwave are working. What are we doing wrong??

Do you have a transfer switch? If not plug the shore power cable into the receptacle of Rv.

Sounds like your transfer switch did not operate. The default position for the switch is AC Shore power. When you run the generator the transfer switch will normally switch the coach loads to the generator. Look up your transfer switch information and see if you can figure it out. Good Luck

After checking that take cover off generator and check the circuit breaker there.
