Brand New Owner - Generator issue

Sorry, but I am a brand new owner with a generator issue. My unit is brand new as well - Georgetown 351DSF with an Onan 5500 generator. Was running fine but I didn't know that if the fuel tank falls below a certain level, the generator shuts down. However, I am not sure that was the issue. My coach was running and I started the generator, which worked fine. Then, when I shut the coach motor off, the generator shut down right away. Fuel was below 1/4 tank. I have now filled the tank up but still can't get the generator to start up again. There is less than 12 hours on it. I have an inverter for the residential refrigerator, if that means anything. From what I can tell, the fault code I am getting back is 36.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Code 36 simply means engine stopped account fault, 1st reason given out of fuel. Suction tube engine to gas tank is full of air. You can repeatedly prime and start till full again. Or easier on the starter and batteries prime and start on engine side use a start fluid into the carb, sparingly! It should cough back to life quickly. Either method use starter in short -less than 10 second bursts, then reprime.
