Breaker, Breaker OK?

I have a 20 amp fuse located under the trailer. I disconnect the battery when storing the TT. Quite often I find the fuse blown and have to crawl under and replace it. It is only blowing just after reinstalling the battery and everything works fine after that. I think I'm shorting it or the surge is poping the fuse. In any event I'd like to switch the fuse to a breaker whith the same amp rating, and move it to a more convienient location. Does anyone see a problem with this idea?

No problem with the idea, but I wonder what the heck could be pulling that much power upon reconnecting. If it is momentary, I am not sure how you would trace it but it doesn't seem normal to me.

Why don't you pull the fuse just before installing the batteries and then put the fuse in once you have the batteries installed?

I was thinking about that, it seems unlikly so I'm assuming that I must be shorting it. Everything seems to be functioning fine otherwise. Once I put a switch in the line it should eliminate the fuse poping problem If I'm shorting it while reconnecting. I think I'll move it to a more convienient location anyway. I'll keep an eye on it after I put a switch in the line and before I change anything else.

Thats a good Idea for trouble shooting. But still a pain because I have to crawl under the TT to do it.
