Cherokee Lite 28A - lights in slide issue

We have our trailer parked at a seasonal site. Last time out all of our lights worked fine. Upon returning today, our lights in our slide don't work ??? ( Couch and Dining table lights )

I checked all fuses in panel and all are good and red indicator light not on for any of them.

I did find a 3amp fuse, blown, attached to the propane detector at the base of the counter in kitchen area. I tried replacing this with a new fuse and it blows instantly ?!

Please help .....is this related to the lights ???

Any info greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Are your lights the only thing not working?

Yes. Just the lights in the slide area. Slide still has power to go in and out.

Check the wiring underneath the slide to see if wires are damaged.

Birdman,

I had exactly the same snag with my Cherokee 275 BH. It was, as fonzie suggests, the coil wire connecting the slide electrics to the trailer. The inboard or trailer connection wires had corroded to green powder. Just cut it back until you reach solid wire and reconnect.

This would be the green/white wires under the couch ? Or are you talking under the actual slide on outside of the trailer ??

If you have none do so yet, I would dismantle lights from ceiling and check if you have a bad connection. As far as pulling new wiring, you can attach new wiring to old and try to pull through.......
