how did you handle the fact your 50 amp cord does not fit inside the closable area of the PI 50 amp EMS protector? There is a pull handle on the head of the cord and this prevents the EMS LID from closing. Thanks for your suggestions and solutions!
Unless there’s a torrential downpour in the forecast, I don’t do anything. Lots of models have no covers at all. At least the partial cover that’s provided is better than no cover. If it’s going to pour, I usually place a garbage bag over the power pedestal.
Thanks, we are going to be in a torrential downpour situation daily in Florida so would prefer to secure the lid closed. Plato did you just use a hack saw and cut it? Thanks. Scott

Yes they are TIGHT.You can buy a tube of "thermoelctric" grease to put on the plug blades. It makes them a little easier and actually makes for a better electrical connection.
The hardest thing I have to do when departing a CG is removing the 50A power cable from the PI EMS. There has to be a better solution.
On our Flagstaff I just left the cord plugged into our 30A EMS. Unplug EMS from pedestal, unplug cable from trailer, throw whole kit and caboodle in the storage bin as is.

I was going to cut mine down as well but my cord has a led light in the pull handle indicating power. I bought an extension cord that is fairly flat that it closes over. I also unplug from the pedistal and camper then load it as one piece in the slide out storage under the sofa.
