coach battery drain a mystery

I have a 2006 Forest River Georgetown gas V10 and the problem I am suspecting is that the computer or control box that regulates when the coach alternator and the house inverter/converter charge the batteries is not closing all the way.

The symptoms are the coach battery seems to be drawn from first (and dies fast) then the coach batteries are drawn from and when I go to start the coach the battery is dead. I have a electronic switching system and am wondering if there is a "trick" I can use to make the switch think it is on the converter and not the alternator as the switch appears open to allow the house to suck the juice from the coach first.

Suggestions?

BTW i searched the Georgetown forum and this one and could not locate the exact advice I am looking for which is a fix or trick to close the switch or a way to wire in a monitoring device to make sure the switch is closed.

PS.

thought of the device that allows the coach battery to draw off of the house batteries to keep it charged Trik L start but not sure if this is going to solve the problem or make it worse!

Not a motorhome guy, so bear with me.

As I understand it there is a battery isolation and charging system in motorhomes that prevents the "house" 12 volt appliances from discharging the starting battery and yet allows charging of the starting battery. Like a diode it only is supposed to allow voltage to travel in one direction; into the starting battery.

Here are some manuals that might help find the problem. It is all I have and hopefully your answer is in there.

The battery seperator is a relay which closes (connects) when the house batteries see 13.2volts linking the chassis battery to the house batteries so they are both charged, and opens (disconnects) when the batteries hit 12.6-.7 volts when the ignition is off (12.2 volts when on) preventing the chassis battery from being discharged.

Unless something is wrong with the seperator, the house cannot discharge the coach battery much. It sounds like you have a bad chassis battery.
