Constant dead batteries

I have a 2017 blue ridge 3780 and am constantly having to charge the batteries. TT is always connected to shore power and every time I go to hook up batteries are dead. I am using 2 deep cycle batteries. I have searched this machine all over and cannot find a converter. Where should it be? It is very frustrating

Isn't your Blue Ridge a 5th wheel? Don't think they've ever made a TT.

Have you checked the battery disconnect switch?

Converter is behind the fuse/breaker panel.

You gotta start with the basics...

As bikedan mentioned look for a disconnect switch then, check in the breaker box to see if the one for the converter is tripped? Do you own a multimeter and know how to use it?

2017... your dealer should have checked, shown you the location, and discussed the operation of the converter. Shame on them.

I see it's your 1st post... Welcome!

I have taken to dealer and they supposedly changed fuse but hasn't worked properly. Yes it is 5th wheel not well versed in the abbreviations The disconnect switch is located in the front storage compartment. J have switched it both ways never seems to make a difference. I just don't have time to haul it back and forth for piddly things. Which seems to be all the time. Very expensive machine to be built so cheap

when you go to hook up how are you charging the batteries?
How are you determining they are low?
are these 2 12v or 2 6v?
when plugged in check the voltage at the fuses in the electric panel and at the batteries, what are the readings?

edit: Also depending on how low the batteries are going for how long they may have issues taking a charge at this point.

A picture of you disconnect switch may help

Yes, the converter 'should' maintain/charge when on shore power but if for several reasons, (battery cut off not in the proper position, output fuse on the converter blown, breaker tripped, bad batteries, etc.) you may not be getting them charged via the converter.

Do the 12v items work properly when connected to shore power or only after you charge the batteries with a separate charger?

Assume you have a multimeter. You should read greater than 13 volts at the batteries when plugged into shore power if they are being charged via the converter. The battery disconnect switch must not be in the disconnect position. Additionally, with the batteries disconnected the converter should be supplying all 12 volt items (lights etc.) with power.

To tell you straight off if the converter is working to convert 110 to the 12v.

unplug the shore power.

Unhook the batteries completely. Positive and negative, remove both cables.

Make sure that the cable ends are not touching any metal.

plug back into shore power (no battery)

now turn on a 12v light inside the unit. Does it come on? if yes, converter works, if no, look to converter and fuses.

if yes, now go to the battery connections and test the positive and negative with a meter to have a complete circuit. if no complete circuit, look for the reset fuse under the tongue.

this will give you a start on ideas to look for.

Also, have a load test done on your battery, it may have a short, ect.....

Good job BroLes.

The converter is usually near the incoming power/shore cable connection. Look for the black heavy cable and trace to the interior cabinets. They have led lights in there..you might be able to see in the dark.

I would also find the converter(if you haven't) and check the polarity/converter fuses...usually 30-40 amp and usually separated from other DC or plastic fuses. These are in case of a battery cross connection and also if there has been a surge.

Another thing to check and hopefully not correct... did someone pull the break-away cable... that would be a power eater.
