converter problem

this morning I found out before packing to go camping, that there is no electricity inside my rockwood roo. call an electrician and found that the problem is with the converter, by opening the converter and going inside where the transistors, relay and other things are, that there is a welded fuse that could be blown. he took a pair of long noise pliers, he touch both extremity of the fuse and everything started to work normally, just like It reset the converter....does somebody ever experience that? should I replace the converter?

I'd watch it and see if it continues to work.
Do you leave your camper plugged in while not camping?
If you have a wfco converter and decide to replace it I would strongly suggest upgrading to a progressive dynamics converter.

I, personnally, like to keep my rig disconnected and battery off when not using it. I don't thnk leaving the batteries on float for extended periods of time is a good thing. Better to let them rest between uses.

My opinion only. and it may be that current technology batts and chargers are better, but I don"t see any harm in disconnecting them between trips and charging them once a month or so in the off season.

I leave mine on as well, but have added a BD-12 Wizbang Plus Desulphator to shock the battery every so often to equalize it.

If the fuse has "reset itself" I would see how it goes.
Sometimes the "Forest River Fix" is all that is needed.
