Converter upgrade

Currently have a WFCO converter in my Rockwood 2304s. It is not charging the battery when plugged in to 110. I have been told that the charger in the converter is only adequate at best. I would like to upgrade. Any recommendations?

Do you know for sure the charger is the issue? Have you made sure your battery is ok, used a different charger on it. All your fuses are ok? I have a wfco and my battery is from 2006 and still woks fine.

converter

Rockwood is 2010. Battery AOK. Charged on big charger at rez. Put back in trailer and it gradually wears down even when plugged into 110. No warranty. WFCO converters do not have great rep for charging ability.

Check for fuses on the converter itself. Mine has a fuse on 110 side and 12v side

Even though it is a poor "battery charger" it should still be charging. If you have a voltmeter, check the battery voltage when your not plugged into shore power, then check it when you are plugged in. You should see an increase in the voltage while plugged into shore.

Anyway, I replaced mine in my Class A to a 4 stage unit.

Here is the short article on what I did.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

Wfco converter - mod wf-8955pec

This is the converter in my Rockwood 2304s trailer. I was hoping someone might know which fuse in the fuse box controls the converter battery charger. It is not labelled.

Progressive Dynamic Converters....I put one in my last trailer, they are an upgrade or replacement for the model you have. The battery charging feature offers Boost Mode, Normal Mode, Storage Mode or Equalization Mode. A far superior converter then WFCO brand. When my WFCO goes to heaven (which it will) I will replace it with another Progressive Dynamics model...
