This stuff confused me at first also. I would get a bigger extension cord and, like others said, keep the distance as short as possible. here is a site that has some good basics on RV electric and also has a list of estimated amp usage for common items -
RV Converters and Amp Draw - RV Information (RV Maintenance) . If you look on it you will see that you can possibly run several things at a time but have to be careful what you run together. I just run my tt's 30 amp power cord to the outlet then use a dogbone to plug in (but you still are limited to the 15amps of the plug).
