Question DC power (problem in MH)

Hi there to all. This is my first post, uh, need for help actually. My motorhome has an issue with DC power. My ignition switch has 4 positions. Turning the key to the left and I can run accessories, center position is off, one click to the right and its wait to start lights up (Diesel), and all the way to the right and the engine kicks over. turn the key left and I am supposed to be able to work all hydraulics but when I do activate a lever on the bedroom slide or levelers all the power in the RV drops out including anything running on AC shore power. If I return levers back to normal all power resumes including AC activated units and DC lighting. All this as long as I am plugged into shore power. If the ignition switch is in the on position of the engine is running I can activate everything including all DC powered items and AC items as long as the generator is on. This being done while NOT plugged into shore power. If I am driving and running the Generator, upon turning off the engine the generator will NOT continue to run. Any thoughts?
Again if I am not plugged into shore power OR the engine isn't running I basically have no DC power to the coach.
It seems to me that I have chassis battery but not the coach batteries. Where would the interruption take place?
