Dim Lights

I keep my 2008 Wildcat 28rk connected to shore power 24/7 on our permanent site. Last weekend we had no issues with lights. Today I noticed our lights were very dim and the batter indicator on the control panel was at half. After a few hours it is now at empty. There are no breakers tripped. Any clues as to what the issue is? Please know that I'm not too handy with electric.

Sounds like your power converter may be bad. That is what mine did when mine went out.

Is the converter difficult to replace?

Depends on what type you have. There are others on here that can give you better advise than me. Mine was a "stand alone" type, not built into the fuse box. Mine simply unplugged from the back on my fuse panel and i replaced the positive and negative battery cables and ground wire.
This is what I got...
PD9270 70 Amp RV Power Converter Charger from Progressive Dynamics

short term help would be to hook up a 12 volt battery charger directly to your batteries to see your lights stay bright. Had to do this when mine went out while camping...

How can I test the converter to know its bad? Could I have a bad battery instead? The water level in my deep cycle battery was low.

Could be, do you have a charger?
If so unhook it refill with distilled water and charge it.
If not buy a battery tender, Walmart and some Auto parts stores have them.
If you have a multi meter get voltage reading off it before you charge it,

If the converter is working properly, you don't need a battery if plugged into shorepower.

To test the converter, disconnect the battery leads and test for voltage across them while plugged into shorepower. You should have at less 13.2V if the converter is working properly.

I'm not getting any readings across the terminals when plugged into shore power. I checked the fuses and all seem to be good.

Other than checking the control fuse on the back of the converter, I think you'll need a new converter.

Dave

Edit: I didn't see you last post...if you're getting any reading, the control fuse isn't blown but the converter is bad.
