Clean ALL your connections on both sides of the plug. Look for discoloration and pitting.

If the harness was installed aftermarket check the connections they used.

Their is a 40amp fuse-relay (I found mine up in the kingpost area) that allows 12v DC from the battery to the RV when not connected to shore power. This little bugger could be your problem. Check if 12v lights are working during this condition (I.E. control panel lights or your freshwater pump operation).

Clean the connections in your Bargman connector. Also check the brake wires near the trailer axle. FR uses wire nuts to make the connections. They do not do well with vibration and water.

My 2015 Silverado has the same problem but only when towing the boat. No problem with our Salem. Tried extra ground but didn't eliminate issue. Would be nice if Chevy offered an option to acknowledge/silence alarm.

I had a similar experience with my Ford. While going down the road I would get a TRAILER DISCONNECTED and then TRAILER CONNECTED. Could not point to any one specific thing that caused it but eventually solved it. Had a loose connection where the trailer plugged into the truck bed. I had an aftermarket receptacle installed in truck bed. One of the wires was loose on the terminal.

Check all the brake wiring connections as others have said, and the connectors.

Also make sure the ignition in the HD is off before plugging in or pulling the 7 way. The Chevy does not like it when you do that. If you plug the trailer in while the truck is running and the brake controller go's ape, you might need to disconnect the 7 way connector, and then possibly the trucks battery for a few seconds to reset everything.

I had a similar problem which we traced to the factory connection where an in-bed cord attached to the harness that leads to the bumper-mounted plug. That connection was taped up in a strange and tight manner such that it caused a barely touching connection. I loosened the tape which allowed the connection to remain solid.
