Disconnect Battery w/Solar?

Hey all --

My wife and I just bought a 2015 Shockwave and I have a couple of questions about the electrical system. The system has two 12v batteries and a 160w solar panel.

1) The solar panels charge the batteries even when the battery disconnect is turned off?

2) Since it has solar to charge the batteries, should I still enable the battery disconnect when not in use for about a week? We will probably be using it every 1-2 weeks or so for now until big winter comes.

3) On the little panel for the TV on the ceiling above the TV in the kitchen, there is a little button and when it's "on" a little green light comes on. I have no idea what thats for - something with the TV connections but I can't get close enough to it to see what it says on it. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you!

I can't help much with Solar, I don't have any in my install.

But for #3:

That is the antenna booster. Basically green light on = TV signal from the antenna on the roof. Green light off = TV signal from the cable hookup on the side of the unit.

There are a lot of variables in there that make it difficult to answer the first two questions. It would depend on how and where your solar controller is located and where in-inline your disconnect is.

Number 2 (see the above), but typically I leave solar on even if it's going to sit for awhile, but again... that depends on your solar controller.

For #3 - My guess would be that that is probably the signal booster for the TV antenna.

That wasn't terribly helpful was it. LOL Best way to tell is just to dig out the multimeter and check the voltages going into they batteries, then flip the disconnect and test again.
