Drain battery on occasion

I have a 2014 Grey Wolf 26 RL. Should I periodically drain the battery and recharge or let it continuously stay fully charged while on shore power?

You might "exercise" it occasionally by drawing it down but I wouldn't draw it down below 12.0 volts. A good deep cycle battery does get more "powerful" after being exercised a few times. But it is very hard on a battery to draw it down below 12.0 volts. You can leave it plugged into shore power as long as you have a 3 stage converter; and you most probably do; but check. Even a 3 state though is like a trickle charger. It is NOT a smart charger. So, you have to check your electrolyte level occasionally. I disconnect my battery from the trailer entirely and hook the battery to a small smart charger with anti-sulfation technology. I personally use a Battery Minder. I HIGHLY recommend this method. No affiliation with the company.

Battery Minder's will save you a lot of money and make your battery last much longer with the de-sulfating feature they have! Best purchase I ever made.
