Question Electric Outlet Question

I am looking at upgrading my satellite setup and change over to the new SWM technology. I need to plug in a power supply and was wondering if it would be OK to replace one of my outlets that only has one plug-in to a new outlet with two. Currently our dirt devil central vac is plugged into this. I can only assume CC only wanted the one thing plugged into this circuit. So if I replace it with a standard wall outlet I should be ok to run both vacuum and a DC power inserter?

Don't think it would be a problem. Wiring should be 14 ga which is good for 15 amp.

Replacing the goofy RV type duplex outlet with a standard one can sometimes be problematic as the wire is pressed into a channel. If I remember correctly, you will need to make sure when you cut the wires (after you pop them out of the snapped closed assembly) that it is near the perforations).

Also make sure you have enough "extra" wire to cut back and strip the ends. Some are wired pretty tight. How about an outlet expander?

This one is cool cause each appliance can be controlled with a remote.

That would work, but this outlet is the storage area, so I have plenty to work with. Thanks.
