I do try to be through. Never had the opportunity to work in a
Failure Analysis Lab, but have tried to learn from contact with
those who have.........

What we learn may just save us not only similar grief, but maybe MUCH more!
Yes, indeed. One only has to google the net to see the horrors
of RVs burning - even without loss of life!. We no longer camp
with minors, but anyone who does would want do everything
necessary to protect their little treasures.

Thanks for being so thorough with your follow-up. Some may have just replaced the duplex, and simply pressed on.
OK. Followup, err, ahh, follows.

Life delayed my check of the fridge wiring, but I have now proved
that it *IS* in the non-GFI string. That explains a bunch!

When I bought the TT last fall, I thought that the fridge would
be on it's own breaker, same as the A/C and uwave oven have
their own breakers. When I found out that was not true, I
assumed (there's that nasty word!) that it would be on the GFI
string. After all, the outlet is in the external hatch where one
can futz with it while standing in wet grass or ground or be
in contact with grounded metal, etc, etc, etc..

Since it is not, I first thought that I would replace the fridge
outlet with a GFI outlet - be safe! On 2nd thought, I think I
will find the most "upstream" outlet in the non-GFI string and
replace it with a GFI outlet. That way ALL outlets aboard the TT
will be GFI protected whether inside or out.......

Can't be too safe. I figure that at my age, I don't have all that
many years left on This Earth, so I want to stick around for
ALL of them!

Be safe and have a fun summer,
johnd

Medical research shows that men have a "biological clock" too. The older we get, the greater the NEED to drive a TRUCK!

John,

During the course of your investigation, have you found anything else remotely similar-looking insofar as electrical resistance heating goes?

No. No heating visible, but two outlets had screws that
were not as tight as I would have liked - no problems
seen & screws were not actually loose, just not "uumph"
tight. So tightened all screws just to be sure......

cheers,
johnd
