DW and I are on a trip from Indiana to New York for about 10 days. On the way to New York we have had an electrical issue. The refrigerator and one outlet will only work off of the power inverter. Everything else is working normal. I have checked all,of the fuses and breakers. We have a residential refrigerator that does not have an LP option. Thanks for any help!
Is the power meant to be switched from invertor to shorepower when available or is the fridge always powered from the inverter and the batteries recharged by the converter when you have shorepower or when the generator is running?
The power to the fridge is meant to be switched to shore power when plugged in. I have been beating my head against a wall trying to figure this out. It seems that it is something easy that I am just missing.
If its really supposed to be an automatic change to shore power, with the inverter no longer involved, then you have something called a transfer switch that seems to have stopped working. I have no idea where that is in your particular RV.
