Securing PI 50Amp EMS

Folks,

Thanks to all your comments, your assistance has been great.

Next question on this topic though... This past weekend DW and I took Phoenix out for first outside of the driveway camping trip. I had lock, cable chain and everything to lock up the EMS. The power box though had the hasp like lip that stuck through the drop down cover... I looked at all of it and then decised that best option for me at this site was to just use the padlock and lock the power pole lid closed. DW thought it might not be the best idea but my rationale to better secure our EMS won out...

My question, what are your thoughts about locking the drop-down lid of the receptacle on the power pole? This particular camp site had a dedicated power pole for every site so there was no issue have to share a power pole with anyone else.

As always, thanks for your thoughts.

Happy Travels,

B n D

I don't see any problem with that at all. With saying that I have not heard of anyone stealing one either. Some of the old box's you won't be able to do that. I installed a scare light on that side with the motion detector on it. That would ward off someone that is trying to steal it. At least I hope. I put that on after my wifes bike was stolen one night. That was an $800.00 lost. oh by the way I see that you are from the great state of Virginia. COE camp grounds are now open here on the lake. If you have never been to my area give us a try, Here is a link to my Town all or most of the camp grounds are within 5 to 8 miles away on the water camping. WWW.Clarksvilleva.org We have 3 live camaras set up on our town site shows the lake and downtown.

Kerr Lake

GK,

The wife and I camp a bit at some of the COE and state park CGs around Kerr Lake. We like Rudd's Creek the best... We are camping at Satterwhite over Memorial day weekend... And she told me we were camping at Occoneechee Park sometime this year but I forget when... (CRS is he$$). The DW keeps telling me our camping card is filling up fast this year...

Happy Trails,

B n D
