Fan-tastic vents not working
Got down to Texas 2 wks ago to scout out some destinations for next winter. First park we stayed at both of our Fan-tastic vents would not work. Pulled all fuses and reseated, 13.6 volts on all fuses, also had 13 volts at pos and grd terminals on circuit boards of fans. Ordered a replacement fan assembly, could not just get circuit board! We moved to a another park before replacement came and both fans worked!
We have now moved to a third park and the fans are not working again! I’m not sure what the problem is anymore.... is it a park power issue or is it an internal trailer power issue?

Not sure what model you have so I'll throw out some things i noticed in my manual. Fans are fairly sensitive to vent cover being open far enough; i.e. they won't run if cover is only cracked open. I believe some of the models have a thermostat, and some of them have a rain sensor that closes the vent and shuts off.
Good luck.

Thanks Mitch, vents fail to open when trying to activate with remotes. Sensors are dry and batteries in remotes have been replaced.

They run on 12 volts so unlikely park power issue. Do your lights work? Furnace Fan? Maybe flaky convertor or battery.

Each fan will have a short ground wire with a ring wire terminal that is Normally grounded under the Nut that holds the Push switch that works when LID is opened for fan use! Youroo!!

Fantastic vent fans
Timing is everything.... Just this morning my bathroom fan stopped working. Voltmeter in hand I went to work. Everything checked out inside. Up on the roof and wiggled the white wire to the push switch. Dry and would not move. Started to take the motor out then tried the white wire to the push switch again. Bingo!
The fitting on the end of the wire was loose under the switch it just barely. Tightened up the nut holding the fitting in place and works fine now.

We've had similar problems from time to time. In our case it turned out to be corrosion on the plunger switch for the vent cover. Not sure if this would apply in your case.

I have found that many 12v light and other equipment failures, especially intermittent ones, often can be traced back to a bad ground. Nice to find them as its usually a pretty quick and easy fix.

Yes, I think the problem has to be a common grd connection between the two fans. Will have to try pinpointing the trouble when I get back home. Thanks to all for the suggestions.

I think the key point with your problem is the fact that Both of your fans were not working. Tells me your first search would be to common wiring shared by both fans as in grounds, hots, fuses, etc. One other minor little detail is the dampness sensor. If it was really humid, may be causing the units to stay shut. Doubt it, but maybe.

With my problems, I usually find that it's the nut behind the wheel that needs adjusting.

Well, subsequently to the last failure, we stayed in four more rv resorts/parks and both fans worked properly in each facility. I do not feel that the fan failures were the result of an internal fault in the trailer so unless there are further failures i will let sleeping dogs lie! No use in pulling the trailer apart to find something that isn’t there!
Thanks to everyone who offered advice!
