flush mounted lighting

I need instructions on how to remove cover plate on these lights, I read a 3 month old thread that said to turn the cover plate counterclockwise and it would come off, "well no luck so far."

Did it stop turning?
If it did try a little down pressure.

I turned it several turns, not sure how many turns it needs, did not try any down pressure while turning.

How do you get the light cover off. it wont turn
