front jacks

Getting ready to go south and front jacks will not retract. Fluid is fine. Will it hurt if we can get a heavy duty jack and lift up the front of the RV (class A) to relieve pressure on the jacks. Any suggestions welcome.

While it won't hurt anything as long as you jack in the right place, I'm afraid it's not going to fix the problem.

Which unit do you have?
Which brand and model jacks do you have?

Is the hydraulic motor running when trying to retract?

floor jacks

We have a 2012 Georgetown Class A. We made it to Ga with the jacks like they are. Not up all the way, but ok to travel.

We've talked to someone from Georgetown and Lippert and still have the same problem with the front jacks. Surely someone else has had this problem, or something similar.

Does anyone know where the computer for the leveling system is located in the Georgetown mentioned above?

jacks

Thanks to a call from Travis Burd from Georgetown, we found where the computer that controls the hydraulics is located. My husband found the spot, but isn't going to do anything about it. There's a seal on the compartment and he's afraid if he breaks the seal, he won't be able to reseal it.

Can't help you with that. Contact the manufacturer. We found out our jacks are not Lippert, but Equalizer. Talked to someone from there, and my husband found out a fuse was blown, Replaced it, it blew again. So he thinks there's another problem......something about the connections need cleaned of buildup.

A fuse keeps blowing when putting front jacks up or down. Anyone have any idea why? This is really getting old!!!!!

What rating (amp) fuse is it?
Have you checked and remade all the wiring connections? If not I'd start there.

If it's not a bad connection, it's most likely either the motor windings or the hydraulic pump binding.

front jacke

He used 7 1/2/. 10, 15, 20 and it blew them all. The cover on the fuses doesn't have any info on what fuse is to what.

Have someone (electric knowledgeable) size ampacity based on wire size. You should never guess and triple the fuse size on conjecture. You may be causing further damage downstream.

Hydraulic pumps are power hogs, so you need to KNOW what size fuse is required for it. I'd suggest calling the mfg. again and ask what size fuse is recommended.

I'd still check all the connections you can find in the circuit and remake or retighten them. A loose connection at a termination will cause high current draw and could cause fuses to blow.

As I said above, if it's not a loose connection it's either the motor or the pump binding.
