Fuse box fan making noise

My trailer has been making this noise. Does it when i have stuff on and when I have nothing on. Thoughts on what could be causing it, and how to fix?

probably your converter's cooling fan. usually runs because battery is dead or low.
but it sounds like it's going out.

it would help if you put year, make and model of RV that you have, either in your profile or your sig line.

Thanks. It is a 1999 Thor Tahoe Light Travel trailer. And I am hooked up to power.

Well, then it's a good chance that the cooling fan is bad.
Also, since your trailer is not a Forest River product, you'll have to supply the converter brand and model.
Also you should have the battery cells tested with a hydrometer.

the "fuse box" as you call it is actually called a "Converter". It changes 120 volt
AC into 12 volt DC to power your 12-volt lighting and equipment system and also recharges your battery used by the lighting and power system. It contains 12-volt fuses and 120-volt circuit breakers.

Sounds like the cooling fan is bad. Look for the Manufacturer name, and model number on the unit and contact them directly for a new fan motor. Easy to fix. and way cheaper than buying a new one.

See if a couple of drops of 3-1 oil doesn't fix things.

The above advice about providing the brand and model of the converter ID good.

I'd suggest turning the power off and removing a battery cable and then removing the cover and turning the fan by hand to see if it's hard to turn.
You may get lucky and something has just fallen into it.

If not, do as cavie suggested and try a little machine oil on the bearings if they're accessible.

bulbs

My Jayco Travel Trailer did the same thing. I swapped all my bulbs out for LED's and no more problems with the fan running with lights on.
