Question Gen Set and House Batteries

I have a 2015 Georgetown 329 and for the last 2 winters, I have taken the house batteries out of the unit, put them in my garage on a Battery Minder for the winter. However, after going to FROG Rally in Goshen this past August and listening to the seminar by Onan-Cummins on Gen care and also, what the Onan-Cummins service dept. told me where I get my Gen serviced, sounds like I need to run the Gen once a month for 45 - 60 mins with a load. However, the Gen Set won't start without the house batteries in the MH, right? So, will the button on the dash for battery boost also work to start the Gen. I know it works the other way to give a boost to the chassis battery if it's low. Any suggestions would be helpful. I do store the MH about 30 miles away from my home and there are no electrical hook-ups in the area.
