Generac IQ seriers Generators

Just saw this on my YouTube feed. Looks like possible competition to the red and blue generators.

Interesting I use a generac standby genset for the house and I have been impressed with it.

FYI I did check the noise level on my Onan 3.6LP genny in the prism- it was about 85-90dB under load (15000BTU AC) at 10 feet

It is interesting that no where on their site or product brochure do the list a sound level rating. It just says quiet.

They don't publish that info. I was looking at buying the ix2000 5 years ago so i called Generac the woman who took my call was a little rude on the phone and said they don't have to publish that information. I told her i have a 3500 w Generac generator i bought 20 years ago i was very satisfied with their products. But i was looking for a quieter generator for camping. If i had the decibel level of the ix series. i could compare to others even it is not the quietest one i consider it a trusted product and would prefer to get the generac. That is when the woman got rude with me and told me " I told you already that we are not obliged to post that information" so i bought a Kipor who rated at 59 dB Two years later my father bought ix2000 for his camp it is just as quiet more then mine.

Not Measured by Manufacturer - Why Some Generators Don't List Decibel Ratings

Why Some Manufacturers Don't Measure Decibels
"Everyone hears differently, and although a generator may list its decibel rating, its sound will still vary from person to person depending on the location of the generator and where the person is standing.

Therefore, decibel ratings aren't always as accurate as they were intended to be, which is why many companies are hesitant to provide any at all. The location of the generator, the direction in which the exhaust is pointing, and the type of generator you have all influence the noise level."

not my words above, but makes sense to me... although it does make it hard to compare...
