Generation 1 TRC 34730 Surge Guard

I made my first visit to CW this weekend, and there were a few things that I wanted to check out. One, was a surge protector of some sort. They had the Generation 2 34730 with the LCD screen, and had 1 left of the Generation 1, on clearance for $145. Did I get a good deal, or did I get an inferior product. Reading the boxes, they seem to do the same protection.

Any surge protection is better than none. I'm not familiar with that model, but from what others have stated surge protectors have saved $$$ in electronics repair or replacement. I'd say you done good Chooch. I noticed that CW doesn't offer the Gen 1 any longer. It must have been replaced by Gen 2 and phased off the shelves. If all it's missing is the LCD screen, big deal.

Thank you! I think it will serve it's purposes. I am usually a techie and like the latest and greatest. But I won't be out there all the time watching the numbers like it was a Television. If I want to know the voltage, I am sure going to have a DMM in the toolbox to check that. I am still on budget camping, and was just hoping I got a good deal.

Good job on picking up a good deal. It may not have the LCD screen but it does have the end loops that I like better than the new model design. You should be a happy camper.
