Generator Battery
I've been combing through many posts related to this, but haven't got it figured out yet. I've installed an Onan generator in the pre-wired box on my XLR 27HFS. Some of the posts I've read say to have a separate battery for the generator from the one running 12v for the camper. I'm not ready to go with the dueling 6v setups yet after dropping a load on the generator.
Following the battery connections from the generator box back to the A-frame, the negative side is bolted into the A-frame with several other cables (A). The positive cable goes to a fuse block (B)on the A-frame, then near the original battery, but is taped off and tie wrapped to the grate (C) - not hooked up to anything.
So my first thought is, put that positive cable on the new battery, buy a negative cable, and screw that into the frame. That easy, or is it? Something is not adding up in my head, what am I missing? Any advice would be welcome.
