Generator for Sabre 34TBOK w/ 15k A/C

Hello we have a 2014 Sabre 34tbok 5th wheel and I would like to buy a generator. I don't need it to run everything but want it to run the air conditioning and tv and lights. I will make sure the microwave and toaster are not used at the same time. I prefer the Yamaha inverters. Nt sure if I am better to use two 2000's or the 3000 with boost or if I can even use those two different ones. Do I need to use a 4500? By the way the trailer only has one air conditioner. Also please let me know if I can use either the two 2000's or single 3000 am I just borderline? Not as worried about the price as I am about the weight and what will work best. Thanks!

What size A/C does your Sabre have? A 13.5k or 15k unit?

Hello, I am working on exactly the same thing for my 8289 WS Rockwood 5th. I have 15,000 BTU AC. In my research and real life experience using Generators for TV equipment I need a minimum 3500 running watts and a surge of 4000 watts to start the AC under heavy load. Another thin you will require is what is called a Hard Start Cap on the AC Compressor. Looking at the gold standard Honda Inverter EUi2000 parallel operation will only provide 3600 running watts, they only certify to 1800 watts continuous . These will work but they do cost. I am looking at alternative units, Yamaha looks good. There are some off brand Powerstroke that will provide 3500 watts on inverter type, will be noisy though. Most of our camping is in Provincial Parks and we do get hydro, if we had to run overnight I would want quite units.

Brian

a 3000w and up inverter generator should work.
personally, i'd go with two paralled 2000w inverter generators, whether they be Honda, Yamaha or Champion.
then you'd only need to take the one 50lb. generator, if you weren't going to need any a/c. if it was just a 3000w or bigger, you'd have to lug 100lbs. or more for stuff that the 2000w could run.

though i think the new Champion 3100w inverter generator is quite attractive, but i already own a Honda 2000w.

I had the Honda EU 3000 and one 2000i, neither one could run our hw pup air or the 13.5 tt ac, so I sold them both! Didn't even try with our 15k in our Surveyor. My "cheap" (General Wheelhouse) from HDepot (5500watts) runs the 15k ac when the camper is in my house. (driveway camping/set up, cleaning the camper and when working on mods)
