Generator Question

Getting ready to head out on our first trip in a couple of weeks. I had my trailer plugged into shore power last week, but I didn't want to turn on the A/C because it's not a 30amp circuit.
I was thinking about hooking up my house generator to run the the A/C, for the purpose of making sure it's working to elevate any surprises.

Anything I should worry about with doing this?

No reason it shouldn't work at home if it should work at camp!

Testing at home is always a good idea. I'd rather discover a problem at home than at a campsite somewhere.

Not sure if I'm reading your comment wrong, we just bought it new, I haven't been out camping yet... Don't want a surprise when I turn on the A/C...

For grins, took a look at the current draw for some of the Dometic A/C's which are typical ... other makes are likely similar, you could check the correct spec sheet for yours:
Dometic 540315 - 12.4 Amps
Dometic 540316 - 13.3 Amps
Dometic 541915 - 12.4 Amps
Dometic 541916 - 13.3 Amps

Point is ... even if you are using 15/20 amp house circuit and a "typcial" extension cord and outlet - you should be able to provide a satisfactory 15 amps to test the air conditioner operation. Just don't try to run other appliances at the same time.
NOT saying run the A/C for hours, but a 5 - 15 minute test would be no probbie.

I was wondering that, I have an outlet that runs my pool filter, there is no draw on it right now, I was thinking about running it to that.
Thanks

Probably makes sense to turn off the 'converter' breaker so your battery charger isn't drawing...

PROVIDED it is 110 volts that should be fine. If your pool filter is 220 volts, that would be very bad.

Sorry, I didn't word it correctly, it's not the pool filter outlet it's self, that has a specific plug and outlet. I have an outlet attached to that line that is on the outside of my shed... that is on the same line and it is a 110 line.
