Generator surging.

My son has a Powerhorse 2000 watt inverter generator (sold by Northern Tool) that doesn't have many hours on it that he did not exercise often enough. He really only uses it in his fish house in the winter. I got tired of my old Champion and bought one too. I am having one @%$%#% time trying to get his to run right. I have used about a bottle and a half of Seafoam in it and it is still surging and runs louder then my new one. Various times during the weekend it stumbled, fell on it's face and died. I am trying to avoid tearing the carb off to disassemble and clean it, does anyone know of a tune-up in a can so to speak? I know there is stuff out there for 2 stroke outboards that do a good job but not for 4 stroke. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Removing a carb and disassembling it to clean it is very easy.

I finally got it running decent, I guess enough seafoam will take care of it.
