I don't know much about generators but my camper came prepped for an Onan. I didn't want to spend the money on one at the time. Just curious what else would work, in that space, that doesn't cost $3k?

Why are some people so rude here? Answer the questions that people ask! Geez.

Anywho..... I'd go with 2 Yamaha or Hondas... For easy portability. The 3ks are to heavy for one person to move.

for price and performance, two champion 2000i and a parallel kit. You can spend more money on the Yamaha and Hondas but if you have money to waste, feel free to send it my way. I will at least buy you a beer

Good luck with whatever you buy and enjoy camping

Sorry, but that space was designed for a particular onan and getting anything else to fit, work, and be vented correctly usually takes a lot of rework and $$$. At least in the units my friends had in the past. They all eventually just bought portable gennies.

I use a Yamaha 6300isde. Go big or go home right?? But if I were in a different situation, I'd certainly recommend 2 Yamaha or Honda's 2000's paralleled if you need your AC and can't plug in. 2 Champion 2000's paralleled wouldn't run or start my 15K AC so I can't recommend those but everyone else seems to have very good luck with them at half the cost of the other two I mentioned.

Now I find that hard to believe you can not run a 15k ac with two Champions. I got a 3600SIE boliy and it runs the 15k ac of mine. Later RJD

Trust me, I did too. I live at ~5500' elevation and was told by Champion due to the power loss they are not rated to run the AC. Everything else was fine. I made a thread about it on here as well.

I have two Honda's 2000i, for eight years now. Buy what you like and can afford, I can afford the Honda's

while I ran my champion 2000 at 7700 feet last month, because of the elevation, the microwave and invertor caused an overload fault.

With that said, last year i ran my paralleled Champions from Thursday night to sunday morning non stop in 95 degree weather at Deer Creek Music center and had zero issues. As a matter of fact, I am planning of doing the same thing next week

In addition, we had a major storm blow through the St louis area and I am powering fans over night for my house and the neighbors right now
