Genny help please (SOLVED)

have a newer onan genny on my 3100ss mh with just 24 hours. have always run it monthly with no probs. actually used very little. went to do the monthly exercise and learned that although it started right up, it is not putting out any elect. stopped it, re-started it and nothing. no circuits in the inside panel box for it. when connected to shore power, all stuff works. is there a fuse/breaker on the genny itself? if so, where? could the switchover be stuck? and if so, how do i fix that? thanks

Lot of questions, and I don't have the answer. I would suggest you look at Onan's website. Have your model number, and maybe serial number, written down. They have a troubleshooting guide for most models there.

There is a circuit breaker on the gen set it self. Take of the front cover i would imagine they are all bout the same. I have the 4000 watt model and the circuit breaker is right to the left of where you check the oil.

There is a main breaker on the inside panel that usually trips before the one on the genny. It should be labeled main. Be sure to flip it off then back on. I have had the one on the genny itself trip once.

thanx for all the help. turned out to be the toggle/circuit breaker switch on the genny. mine is located way on the right side over from the dipstick and well hidden. still no clue why it would trip but now i know where to look if there's a next time. obviously, i am a happy camper.
