Go Power 3000 watt inverter/controller and no 120 in outlets

I used to be able to plug a fan, say, into my outlets; however, i can no longer run a fan, say. I have Go Power Extreme with 3000 watts inverter and 3 190 amp panels. What is going on? How might I troubleshoot the system?

Start by seeing if the inverter needs resetting.
Then see if there are any breakers tripped.

Don't you have the manual for the inverter? If not, download it.

Are your 12 volt battery(s) dead or low?

A shorted or depleted battery(s) will not deliver enough voltage under load to sustain the inverter and it will shut down to prevent damage to itself and items you may have plugged in.

If you have 110-120 volts at outlets powered by the inverter without load and the inverter trips off as soon as anything is plugged in, I would look to your batteries as your issue.

Solar is great for maintaining and recharging your batteries, but will NOT (alone) power much of any demand. 190 watts of solar will provide about 1 amp of 120 volt AC in full sun (so 3 amps for 3 panels). That is 360 watts of AC.

Your healthy battery bank is crucial for a demand like a box fan which will need between 65 watts (L) and 120 watts (H). Provided that your batteries are healthy, you should still have a few amps left over to charge (top off) your batteries. If they are dead or low, the batteries will come first as they eat up all the incoming amperage, leaving nothing for the inverter.

Are you trying to plug in the same fan or a different one?

Just used ďfanĒ as an example. I have tried to plug in several 120 items, to no avail.

i believe most inverters have some form of status indicators on their face. things like red or green led lights or a display panel. what do they say? also they have a circuit breaker of gfci for the output ac circuit. try to reset them and see what happens.

I would think you should concentrate your efforts on ascertaining the condition of your batteries. I have seen that best practice will be to disconnect all batteries and check each for condition individually.

Batteries are all good. My husband disconnected them to fill them, and Iím thinking that it might have tripped a fuse or something.

Do any other 12v items work like lights, awning, ceiling vent fans?

How do you know the batteries are good?
What is the voltage of the battery(ies)?

Batteries were disconnected start at square one! Verify that they are reconnected properly and have a charge. I have read that some inverters have a specific sequence for disconnecting and reconnecting the positive and negative leads. I do not know if yours does not what happens if you don’t follow the sequence. Start at the batteries and work your way to the inverter.

All 12v working. I just canít plug in a 120 appliance. The batteries are fully charged, according to controller.

OK.

It seems you really have no way of checking things with a meter and are relying on 'indicators' to tell you if the batteries are good so let's say they are.

Have you checked for any indicators on the inverter itself?
Are there any power lights that are lit?
Does the inverter have a reset button?

Again, a simple $5 meter at Harbor Freight (often free with a coupon) will tell you if the inverter is getting 12v. If it is, then the inverter has an issue and needs diagnosed further. If it isn't getting 12v then you need to find out why.

We can guess all day long but without some specifics, that is all we are doing.

one other thought. there is normally a 12 volt resetable circuit breaker between the inverter and the batteries. could it have been tripped during the disconnect / connect of the batteries? what are the status lights on the inverter showing. is the inverter getting 12 volt power? this should be ascertainable by looking at the inverter status indicators.
