PM TURBS. I believe he has pictures of his install. He and I installed mine in Goshen 2014. We installed it under the steps, I did not use the quick connects. I put the LED display under the lip of the steps out of the way of foot traffic so that I could sit in my recliner and see the read out. It is a fairly straight forward job if you are mechanically inclined.

I talked to FR warranty dept a year or so ago and they explained the "new" extended time period of applying for the 2nd year warranty had to do with the "type of payments they would accept". Not sure how that all works, however, that was their answer and I guess their sticking to it!
If I had to guess, my guess would be there's also a recognition that dealers are not spreading the word, as in not offering it, and FR wants to give new owners a longer period to apply.

The cable you got, was standard multi strand 6-3, ask for appliance cord. It has about 3-4 times as many strands and is highly flexible. It would be the same type of cord Dwilcox used on his install. I think it cost around $5.00 a foot when I bought mine. Bought a new EMS to put in the Georgetown, but haven't installed it yet. Will try to make it out to HD and check price of wire.

Here's my installation. I figured I'd save the cost of the plugs & sockets and do a "permanent" install. If I ever want to remove the unit it will be a much easier job to remove the unit and splice the wires than the initial install was... plus it has a bypass switch on the control unit if you ever need to do that.

Our new 2016 Coachmen Pursuit 31BD

Later on in the thread I show how I mounted the display unit inside the coach.

Just another option.

Aqua man thanks for the advice...I want to both Home Depot and Lowe's and the only cable they had that meets the specifications were range cables with the plugs attached.
