HELP!!!! no battery power to anything

So I recently bought a used 2002 flagstaff model 228-mac by forest river popup. I bought a battery since it didn't come with one and nothing will work via battery. I plugged it into my house with an extension cord and everything works though. I'm positive my battery has a charge, I checked the fuse at the battery terminal and even replaced it. All switches that I can find are on and the fuses in the panel box appear to be good. What can I be missing.
Apparently I had bought the wrong battery. I bought a marine startup battery instead of a deep cell. Problem is, when I called the old owner who I bought the popup from he brought his battery which is a deep cell and I'm still having no luck. I have no idea what I'm missing.

is the battery hooked up backwards? follow the cable to double check the ground. if not this then maybe a bad converter?

Allready checked the connections being backwards. And I had checked the ground and even sanded the metal down to make sure I had good contact. Are converters typically located behind the panel box where the fuses are? I have yet to explore this idea

So everything worked when you plugged it in to your house. That means the converter is working just fine.

I'd say there are three possibilities:
1) There is a battery-disconnect switch which is off. Find it and turn it on.
2) There is a fuse in-line with the battery cable which is blown. It will look something like the picture below.
3) The battery wire is disconnected somewhere else.

If you have 12V power when plugged into shorepower, the converter is working properly. Have you checked the battery voltage...it should be around 12.75 V if fully charged. If it's charged, it still must be isolated by a battery disconnect or fuse or resetable circuit breaker.

I would also check the reverse polarity fuses. It is possible that the cables were hooked up incorrectly at one time (could even have been the previous owner). Even 1 second will blow those fuses preventing the converter from connecting to the battery.

Also check for a dead battery. If the battery voltage is below 10 volts, the converter's safety circuits will prevent connection. Remove the battery and charge it using a dedicated charger with an equalizer circuit.
