Honda eu2000 advice

Hey everyone. When I prepped my Honda for storage, I put the recommended amount of stabill in the fuel. I did start and run it for about 15 minutes each month. Now I'm brining it out of storage and running it more and now it has an idle issue with Eco mode on. After googling issue, concenus is that I've gummed up the needle and seat.

In the past I've heard others talk about seafoam. I am open to suggestions on whether this (or another product) that I could run thru the fuel to help the problem or will I have to do a dissemble and carb clean soak?

Imo seafoam should have been the actual storage additive.
Using sea foam now should help.

Hopefully your not using ethanol for your fuel if so I would drain it and refill.

Also the needle and seat won't affect your idle circuit.

Your idle jet may be slightly plugged.

Try some seafoam at the rate of 1oz per gallon. A little more won't hurt.

Also when storing you should fill the tank completely full.

I had this same problem with a DR Trimmer that was inadequately stored. I put some Sea Foam in the gas and ran it for awhile. Cleared the problem up. Certainly give it a try before trying to disassemble.

By the way, I have the same Honda. I put Stabil in the gas, then I run it to warm, shut it off. Take off the access cover. There is a "brass" screw that is in the carb line. Back this screw out a bit and it will drain the carb bowl and gas line. Then turn the screw back in to seat it. This way you don't have to run it at all when stored. I always put mine away this way. It sits for months sometimes without running. When I need it, I just turn on the switch and pull until it starts. It always runs perfectly.

X-2 I use star tron in all my small engines 2 & 4 stroke, also use 89 octane

all the time. seafoam is a great product as well, especially when you have a gumming issue. Any ethanol mixed gasoline is extremly hard on small engines of all kinds. Not as much lubricity as leaded gas and corrosive.

And this is why I love this group... You get answers based on experience vs. trying to be sold on a product/service.

Thanks to those who have answered and keep suggestions coming.

Honestly my biggest problem has gone from too few days of off season camping with hookups to my on season campground is closed for revamp for two years! Nearest high altitude oasis is three hours away- kinda tough when we are trying to make a weekend of it.
