The video was of bad quality. All it showed was was an open ground fault code on my progressive industries surge protector. Then I showed how when I plugged in my homemade jumper the surge protector was fooled into thinking the generators were "grounded" to provide surge protection. Otherwise the surge protector would have had to been put in bypass mode.

Follow the pictures to make your own open ground jumper with a plug. I would use solid over stranded copper.

I know this is an older thread but, Progressive Industries has a disclaimer about using a Yamaha EF2000iS. Its low start up voltage may damage the EMS unit. Just saying for any one who may be reading this and owns these gennies.

G-N bonded plug didn't work on Honda 3000

Hi all, i need help Has anyone had the G-N plug not work on Honda 3000? My loud monster generator work just fine to power my 34' Cedar creek but as soon as i power up my 3000 with or with out the G-N plug it pops my GCFI in bathroom and my lights switch to the batteries and they will not charge and die.Any help would be great. Thanks Jack

Honda EU2000i open ground

Sounds like your plug may be wired incorrectly.

But then again, why would power get past you PI and trip the gfic?

i ran a wire from ground to silver screw and tried it to two different plugs. The honda will power my micro, all outlets but the bathroom GFCI , battery charger and all lights.

Just noticed that PI now has a plug that ties neutral and ground together to combat this problem.
