Honda Gen and altitude adjustments

Anyone adjust their Honda generator for operation above an altitude over 5K, as suggested in the Honda manual?

I live at 4400 feet, at times I camp at altitudes lower than 4400K and at altitudes up to and including 10K. So, does anyone do these adjustments, and if so, do they do they have a dealer do the adjustment, or is it simple enough for someone to do at home?

Running back-and-forth to the dealer when deciding to camp at an altitude above or below 5K does not sound appealing. And that is if I can find a dealer in this area that works on these generators. (Note: Generator Is over two years old, and have never had any adjustments done; and so far, no problems. In fact after 51 hours of use – per hour meter – the plug looks good and it runs great.)

From reading Honda’s manual, it appears it is safer to leave it at an adjustment for 5K or less.

From Honda's Manual:
“At high altitude, the standard carburetor air/fuel mixture will be too
rich. Performance will decrease, and fuel consumption will increase. A
very rich mixture will also foul the spark plug and cause hard starting.
Operation at an altitude that differs from that at which this engine was
certified, for extended periods of time, may increase emissions.”

If it is adjusted for a higher altitude, over 5K, it states it could actually cause damage to the generator.

From Honda’s manual:
”When the carburetor has been modified for high altitude operation,
the air/fuel mixture will be too lean for low altitude use. Operation at
altitudes below 5,000 feet (1,500 meters) with a modified carburetor
may cause the engine to overheat and result in serious engine damage.”
