Honda Generators EU 2000 and Companion kit
Was at my local Honda dealer yesterday to rent a generator for their Santa Parade on Sunday. Asked about pricing for as pair of Hondas and parallel cable. Not imported or sold by Honda in Canada. I was told it doesn't meet code. He had sold EU300is version. Many have run 15 k AC with no issues. He will even loan me one to try it.
Honda Canada
Generated says 23.3 amps. Marginal I believe but if it handles the peak starting or compressors stall load it might just work.
The other Honda EU 3000ik is louder, smaller tank and only 21.8 amps.
Thoughts. ..

According to my dealer (Which if you follow me I trust no further than I can toss a train.) the rule of thumb is the K rating equals the running amps on a hot day, so that 15K AC pulls 15 amps. So you'll have eight amps left to work with, the converter will draw about three to five leaving you about three amps or 360 watts.
While close, it looks like you might be OK. Plus you have a full 25 amps of surge so you might have room to run something through the microwave depending on your converter load at the time.

I think you better try it first; take advantage of the "loan". I believe that I have read of cases where the 3000 would not run air conditioning; and especially if anything else is going on at the same time.

I used a Honda 3000 for several years and ran the air with it. just make sure you are not pulling other big loads, like the fridge. I now use a Honda 2000 to start and run our air conditioner on low setting only and it works but only on low, when I want to use hi setting I have to use my parallel Honda that give me enough power to do that.

The EU3000is will start any RV A/C. What may be a problem is altitude. Get up to 8000 feet and you lose about 25% of the rated power - if you re-jet it. If you don't, you lose a bit more.
I started off with a Yamaha EF2400is, but it only ran my camper for 8 hours. Moved to the Honda partly for the larger tank (the Yamaha doesn't have a fuel pump so it is difficult to add an external tank). It ran most of my house for 21 hours before I turned it off, and has run the camper for 12+ hours with ease.

I would just have AC, 2 cpap machines and maybe a TV and sat receiver. The Hot Water and Fridge on Propane. With LED light the draw isn't that much on the convertor.

CPAPs can be a big load if you have the heaters on. You may not be able to support the A/C and two CPAPs with 2600 watts (the constant rating of the EU3000is) unless you keep the heaters off.

I was told that it was not worth Honda's while to have them CSA approved in Canada. I plan on buying the 2000 and companion on my next trip to the US. With Honda's reputation I don't see a problem with doing that.

I had a Honda 3000, gave it to my son and got an Onan 4000 watt, remote start juice box which hooks up to the trailer hitch on the back of the 5er. The honda ran my AC. Just had to watch what else was going to be run. I also bought two honda 2000s, this past summer. One is the companion model. Much easier to carry & move around than the Onan. I have the parallel cable and the extended run tank. The 2 hondas were bought in the US. I used them for 10 days in October. Depending on what you want to run with them, you can use just one for smaller loads as long as you have the parallel cable plugged in. I found with the 3000 honda, it was a beast to lift into the back of the truck, alone. Give the loaner a try.
