Honda or Yamaha ?

I am new to this site and I am sure it has been asked. I am trying to make a decision on a generator . I think I have it narrowed down to the Honda eu2000 combo or the Yamaha ef2000 combo any real world input would be great . Thank you

We have the Honda units and have been very satisfied with them. However, IMO either brand would be a good choice and work just as well as the other, and I would buy whichever has the best price at the time.

We have Honda also but I'd buy a Yamaha in a heartbeat as well. Yamaha makes a 2,400 watt, I believe, that might interest you.

I was leaning to Yamaha but then found the Dometic 3000. It has enough power to run the air conditioning and it was $150 cheaper than a Honda 2000. It runs as quietly as a Honda. It weighs 70 lbs so only about 11 lbs heavier than a Honda 2000. Only time will tell if it is as reliable. So now you have a third choice to consider.

can't go wrong either way. each has some pros over the other.
you'll be happy either way, since they are the Gold Standard and you only need both if you have use the a/c. otherwise, you only need to lug one 50lbs. unit.

I have the Honda 2000 pair and love them. Most of the time I only haul one unless it will be really hot and I need the A/C. Both are great brands so go with whatever is cheaper in your neck of the woods.

Red or blue? I went with one eu2000 companion. Why? Because most people I know have the eu2000 and I picked up the link cables and in the rare occasion we need AC in Alaska we can link ours up.

The main difference between the two is that the yamaha has a fuel cut off valve that let's you run the unit out of fuel. The yamaha also has a built in fe gauge. Otherwise they are pretty much equal. I had the 3000 Honda and sold it for two yamaha. The 3000 Honda was to heavy. I like the much lighter yamaha.

Take a look at this info on the BOLIY, look at the specs, uses the same engine as the YAMAHA.

I modified mine to accept a 3.5 GAL external fuel tank for a much longer run time. I use it with a ROCKWOOD fifth wheel, will run every thing that comes in RV from the factory including the upgraded AC of 15K BTU.

The price is great also, I chose it over the HONDA & YAMAHA because of the price and features.

I just made that purchase after doing lots of research I went with the yamaha 2000, it is a little lighter and has a fuel shut-off which I thought was a major advantage, power outage is pretty much the same for both honda and yamaha.

How do you know it is as quiet as a Honda? There are no noise specs on their sales information?
