How to power outlets without the AC mains

I have just purchased a 2013 24R Solera. Happy days.

I want to use the TV without plugging into the 120V AC. How do I do this? The manual says the inverter is located above the entry door, but it is not- the Forest River manual seems pretty generic, and I am so far unable to penetrate the murk of it all.

Indeed, how does one provide power to the 110V outlets in the absence of an external power source?

I am a bit of a newbie to a full motorhome (pop-up camper best effort to-date), and am feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the techie stuff.

forget the worthless owner's manual, it has nothing to do specifically with your RV.
only if your Solera had an inverter installed, can you run the tv off of it.
the 110v outlets will only run on shore power or a generator.

Thanks. I believe it does have an inverter. Where can I find it, and the switch? The TV was on when the previous owner demonstrated it to me in a parking lot. I dont need the generator running, do I?

I do not have your model, but I will say you do not run the inverter when you run the generator. Your inverter runs off your 12v battery. Most inverters have a switch that has to be turned on to switch from 12v to 110v. I venture to say that you have a switch inside somewhere or at the inverter itself. Most inverters are mounted as close to the battery as possible.

My 2014 24R came with a Jensen TV which operates on 12 volt battery power. Take a look at the power plug (cabinet above the door). If it looks like a cigarette lighter plug, it is 12 volts and you won't need shore power for the TV.

as far as i know, the Solera does not come with an inverter, nor is it an option.
it would have to been an aftermarket item, installed by the dealer or previous owner.

all RV's have a CONVERTER, but not all RV's have an INverter. in fact, other than larger motorhomes, it generally is an aftermarket item.
