How to prevent battery wire ends from oxidizing
Last time I went to the storage unit to pick up the TT the battery wire ends were oxidized and the power jack would not work; the only useful thing I had on hand to clean them off with was an emery board
What is a good way to prevent this in the future?
Do you coat them with some type of lubricant?
Thanks!
Kim

KY or petroleum jelly is one cheep and usefull way. Their is a spray, red.... I think, but why pay more? All your doing is preventing the oxidation or blocking the oxygen from interacting with corrosion.

KY or PJ or any grease will work fine. The spray does not work.

First you have to get rid of the acid that may be on and around the terminal. Just put water all over and use baking soda powder and sprinkle over the terminal. If acid is present it will bubble and neutralize the acid.
Wash is off after the bubling action stops the put some patrolium prododuct onthe actual terminal.
Good luck

I've used wheel bearing grease for years as well as petroleum jelly to coat battery and wiring terminals with great success.
Dont' think KY would be a good choice only because of its water solueability.
Be sure all traces of acid are cleaned off the terminals by dipping ends in a bath of baking soda and water. Sometimes I use an old toothbrush to work it into the cracks. Flus and repeat until no more foaming/bubbling.
Dry completely, clean thouroughly with wire brush, then using a glove or paper towel, apply thouroughly to parts.
In my solar business, I heat petroleum jelly in a used can with a heat gun until it is liquified, then dip the cable ends into the can for best flow into nooks and crannies.

Labzy the red stuff in the cans works really well........
I have a different question; you mentioned using the "Power Jack" with the battery?
My power jack does't seem to work with the batter? Am I missing something?

Battery Di-Electric grease
You can get battery terminal Di-Electric grease at any auto parts store where they sell batteries. Cost is around $1 per pack.

That is a good idea!
I also heat the wire if possible so the grease flows like solder.
